Akron Central Schools has a new Parent Notification System called Global Connect. Once the decision is made to close school, the Global Connect System will be used to make phone calls to all district families as well as faculty and staff. District families have the option of providing up to four phone numbers to be included in the call system. If you would like to update the numbers you have provided please contact the District Registrar at 542-5039.
When Akron Central School is closed, Akron school buses will not transport any students, regardless of the school they attend. When schools are closed, all activities are cancelled within the building and all sports trips and field trips are also cancelled. Due to child care issues, school will normally dismiss at regularly scheduled times, even in the event of bad weather. Only the most extreme conditions warrant the early dismissal of students. The decision may be made, however, to cancel after-school activities. Please turn to one of the following radio or television stations for school closing information and/or cancellation of after-school activities:
