We would love to celebrate your child's birthday with him/her! Please be aware that we have a NO PEANUTS /TREE NUTS policy in our classroom, as we have students with these life-threathening allergies in our classrooms.
If you would like to send in a treat with your child, please be sure that you send in prepackaged treats for birthdays (instead of home-baked or bakery-bought items.) That way, ingredient lists can be read, and children with food allergies won't be excluded from these special occasions.
IMPORTANT: Please watch out for warnings under ingredients - " Made on the same equipment as or in the same facility as peanuts/tree nuts."
On the first day of school, a letter was sent home with your child, listing some suggestions for birthday/party treats. If you have not received one, or have misplaced your copy, please do not hesitate to contact me for one.
Also, please let me know at least one day in advance that a treat is coming. If there are any "cutting" utensils or plastic flatware that we will need to serve/eat the treat with, please let me know in advance, so that I can be prepared with those items.
Treats can be dropped off in the office or my classroom (Rm E-217) no later than 12:00 PM that morning. Since our lunch period ends each day at 12:50, we typically celebrate birthdays sometime after lunch/bathroom break.
FOR ALL CLASSROOM PARTIES IN GENERAL THROUGHOUT THE YEAR: Please adhere to all the above guidelines as for birthday parties/snacktime items.
*** We celebrate all of our Summer birthdays in June with a special party, nearing the end of the year.
Thank you very much for your cooperation to ensure the safety of all students.
