  • Week of 10/18 to 10/22

    Homecoming week – take photos of a variety of events this week – edit, upload and tag at LEAST 25 images;

    You can use dress up days, Powder Puff, assembly, parade, bonfire. Should include 25 different people min.

     

    Also, work on templates or sports uploads as needed. This is our last major push to get coverage of our fall sports season.

  • Week of 10/12 to 10/15

    Mon: Cover & endsheet - look at class idea from sketches; pick HJ font to match our theme

    Design Crew - Template DUE Friday 10/15 - should use proper design, contain our photo and text boxes, decorative elements, folio, proper margins, etc.

    Photo Crew - DUE Friday - Fall sports photos should be edited, best images uploaded and tagged; Varsity sports - 25 best/ sport; JV - 8 best/sport

    Mon 9/27 (C):

    DT: Each person will pick a specific section/ page to consider (senior formal, Gr 9-11, teacher, sports, student life, cover, endsheet, divider pages) Find 10 good photos that show design elements that can be used on your specific page, and paste them in our google drive folder in the correct subfolder. Examples of items for inspiration: color schemes, magazine layouts, yearbook layouts, graphics relating to movies/theaters that we can use, clip art, etc. Remember these are for inspiration, so we won’t just copy them directly.

    PT: Each person will be assigned sports photo folders in the Google Drive. Today’s task is to delete all the blurries and sub-par duplicates.

     

    Tues 9/28 (D): 

    DT: Talk about parts of the yearbook: cover, endsheet, intro, divider, senior formal, gr 9-11, teacher, sports, ads. Divide our images into folders of what we'd think will work for those ideas. Also, Color scheme designer and planning a color scheme for the book as a team. If time, start to experiment with that color scheme on HJ pages to see overall look.

    PT: Create an “edit” folder inside each of your assigned folders from Monday, and drag the very best images into them. The goal is coverage of many different people, narrative, photo quality. Football folders - pleae make separate folders for cheer and pep.

     

    Wed 9/29 (E): 

    DT: Start to sketch ideas for page templates using theme ideas for decoration

    PT: Create an “edit” folder inside each of your assigned folders from Monday, and drag the very best images into them. The goal is coverage of many different people, narrative, photo quality. Football folders - pleae make separate folders for cheer and pep.

     

    Thurs 9/30 (F): ALL: Discuss the ladder for the yearbook. Do we like the existing ladder, or should we make changes (more fun pages, more of some things, less of some things?); Fixing up scavenger hunt photos as needed (rename/ edit)

     

    Fri 10/1 (A):

    Last day to fix scavenger hunt items.

    DT: Create sketches from our theme brainstorm on Monday of decorative elements you feel would work on your page. Sketches can be done with pencil/ markers on non-lined paper or through digital means. Be sure to change elements enough form the original.

    PT: Edit “best” photos from Tuesday using Photopea, or a photo editing software of choice. If time, we will learn uploading and tagging to the HJ website.

    Wed: Yearbook Legal Issues - Libel and Plagiarism, Digital Citizenship, Coverage; Further Theme brainstorming

    Thurs: Review legal issues; Theme ideas - build on design to be used on specific page types (cover, endsheet, dividers, content, index?, backgrounds, margins). color scheme

    Fri: Theme development OR Discuss Yearbook Ladder; Editing event photos - yearbook drive, deleting bad/blurry photos, folder for best, renaming; Uploading and tagging on HJ - NO SCHOOL
