AKRON, NEW YORK (May 21, 2021) – Erie 1 BOCES has announced the Outstanding Senior Awards for 2020-21 from the three career and technical schools, Harkness, Kenton and Potter.  Akron High School is pleased and proud to share that Akron seniors Zachary Elis, Anthony Farinacci and Brooke McIntyre have been honored with the award for their respective programs.
The Career and Technical Education (CTE) “Outstanding Senior Award” is presented to the student in each class who has demonstrated exceptional achievement, good attendance, a positive outlook and notable growth and development in their program area. Each teacher has selected one student from his/her class who meets these criteria.
Zachary Elis completed the Auto Technician Training program and was selected for the award by his instructor, Mr. Michael Karlnowski.  Anthony Farinacci completed the Engineering and Robotics program and was selected for the award by Mr. Stan Oryawka.  Mr. Marc Hunt selected Brooke McIntyre for the award from the Video Production and Recording Arts program.  All three instructors paid tribute to their student honorees in a virtual presentation available HERE.
“To be recognized as Outstanding Seniors amongst their classmates from all other districts across western New York speaks to the character traits of these three ambassadors from our Tigers family,” said Mr. Stephen Dimitroff, interim High School principal.  “Great job, congratulations, and Go Tigers!”
