8th Graders Put STEM in Motion in Skimmer Car Challenge

This year's winner of the annual Creative Design and Engineering Skimmer Car design challenge is Abigail Schlabach.

Eighth grade students applied knowledge of forces of motion, computer aided drawing, and 3d printing to design and construct aerodynamic cars.

Abby's car traveled 146 feet 4 inches down the middle school hallway.

This design challenge is sponsored by Mayor Brian Perry and his wife Jayne.  $100 will be donated to Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center in Abigail's name.

Second place finisher was Maddox Krull with 134'11" and third was Barrett Berghorn with 129'6".
