Dear Akron Parents & Guardians,
This correspondence is to inform you of the many events and happenings at Akron High School as we approach the final weeks of the school year.
- June 4th- Earth and Space Sciences Lab Practical in Science classes.
- June 9th- No School for students except those taking the Regents ELA exam. BOCES is still in session for all sites. Select students may be invited to attend Review and Lab make-up sessions.
- June 10th Algebra 2 Regents - Regular Attendance day for all students.
- June 11th- Academic/Athletic Awards Ceremony for students at 8:15am.
- June 12th- Traffic Safety Seminar (mandatory for all seniors) at 8:00am
- June 12th- Cap and Gown distribution 10:15 am
- June 12th- Graduation walk around campus at 10:45 am (exact time may vary by a few minutes)
- June 12th- Senior Video and Picnic at 11:15 am
- June 18th- Junior/Senior Prom - The Columns 6:00 pm - 10:00 pm
- June 26th- Mandatory Graduation rehearsal 9:00 am in the Edward Allen Auditorium.
- June 26th- Graduation 7:00 pm in the Edward Allen Auditorium.
Exam Schedules
Linked here is the June Regents/Local Exam Week schedule. Your child will only be in attendance if they are scheduled to take an exam. If your child has an exam conflict, please contact their counselor as soon as possible. Additionally, please note that transportation home is available for 11:30, 2:34, and 3:30pm. Transportation to Akron will not be provided midday. Therefore, if your child is taking an afternoon exam, they can take the morning bus and study in the MPR or arrive prior to the start of the exam. If a student has a morning exam and no afternoon exam, they can wait for the pm bus in the MPR, get picked up, or walk. The ALC will be open during exam week for students wishing to participate in additional regents review sessions.
Graduation
We look forward to sending our Class of 2026 off onto their next venture on Friday, June 26, 2026. A separate correspondence was sent home that highlighted information regarding rehearsal, caps and gowns, and the graduation ceremony.
Summer School/ August Regents Exams
The dates for summer school are tentatively July 07, 2026 - August 13, 2026 followed by August Regents Exams. If your child needs credit recovery and qualifies, you will be contacted by our guidance office. We anticipate this occurring by the end of June. Below you will find the August 2026 Regents Exam Schedule. We may be providing a Regents Review prior to the examination period. Exact days and times will be communicated in July.
