The Akron Tigers boys and girls basketball teams will once again be collecting new, unwrapped toys for patients at Oshei Children’s Hospital during their upcoming home games.
     Toy donations may be made during the girls JV and varsity home games against Alden on Monday, December 9, 2024 and against Albion on Monday, December 16, 2024.  Toy donations can also be made during the boys JV and varsity home games against Albion on Tuesday, December 10, 2024, and against Wilson on Friday, December 13, 2024.
     Donations can also be brought to the performance gymnasium during the two-day Jack Silvernail Memorial Classic on December 17th & 18th when the boys host Alden, Pembroke and Buffalo Science Academy.
     “Our athletes recognize and are thankful for the privilege it is to play sports here at ACS,” said Boys’ Head Coach Justin Gerstung. “Organizing the toy drive is a way they can help brighten the holiday season for kids that are patients at Oshei Children’s Hospital. Our athletes are grateful for community donations and the support of our teams!”
     Team members will deliver the toys to the hospital before the Christmas holiday.
