August 8, 2023 Update

Dear Community Members,

I am delighted to share a comprehensive update on our ongoing Capital Improvement Project, highlighting the progress made during our recent planning and review sessions. The scope of the project will be narrowed once more detailed cost estimates become available. Some of the items below are considered project alternates and may need to be modified.

Bus Garage:

  • Floor Plans & Elevations Review: Key decisions have been made, including moving the elevator to enhance driver areas, adjusting locker locations for security, and accommodating heavier EV buses. Other changes include alterations to exterior doors and planning a trip for the Bus Wash setup.
  • Mechanical, Electrical & Plumbing Systems: Upgrades to HVAC, ventilation, electrical services, and in-floor radiant heating are being planned. Considerations for EV charging and generator upgrades and additional features like a PA system are also being considered.
  • Exterior Facade: Three options for UV-resistant Fundermax panels have been considered.

High School and Athletic Fields:

  • Corridor & Stair Renovations: New wall graphics, furniture, paint, and other aesthetic upgrades are planned for the stairways and corridors. Community input will be sought for graphic designs and item placements as we get further along in the project.
  • Directional Signage: A comprehensive review has highlighted the need for updated and more prominent directional signage across the campus, both indoors and outdoors. A master plan is being developed to address current and future needs.
  • Football Field Lights: Maintenance will be ongoing, regardless of new stadium plans. Signage Budget & Plans: A strategic approach is being taken for the $100k signage budget to address immediate needs while allowing for future expansion.

Technology Classroom Renovations:

  • Key considerations for technology improvements include workstation placement, dust collection system installation, and potential floor refinishing. A consensus was reached to look at floor repair and ceiling leak fixes, with more extensive renovations planned for the future.

Our team continues to collaborate closely to ensure that this project aligns with community needs and long-term goals. We appreciate your ongoing support and welcome any feedback or inquiries.

Thank you for your interest in this important work to enhance our community's facilities and infrastructure. Check back regularly for updates.

Sincerely yours,

Andrea S. Kersten
