Degrees and Certifications:

Miss Korczynski

Hello, my name is Michaela Korczynski. I have been teaching for 3 years, but this is my first year in the Akron Central School District and I am so excited to be here! I was at Maryvale Intermediate School for 2 years, where I taught 5th grade Science and Social Studies, 5th grade ELA, and had a long-term position as the Reading Specialist for grades 3-5. I was also at Willow Ridge Elementary School in the Sweet Home Central School district for 1 year, where I taught 5th grade ELA, and was a program aide, where I worked with grades kindergarten through 5th grade on developing reading skills. I have also spent some time at Cleveland Hill Middle School, where I was a Special Education teacher assistant for 6th grade.

I received both my Bachelor's degree and Master's degree at Buffalo State College. My Bachelor's degree is in Childhood Education (grades 1-6) and Students with Disabilities (grades 1-6). My Master's degree is in Literacy (Birth- grade 12).

Aside from educational accomplishments, I am a proud dog mom to my Golden Retriever puppy named Finn. He takes up all of my extra time and effort outside of school.

I coach gymnastics at Summit Gymnastics Center in East Aurora. I am the head coach of the competitive Level 4 team. I have been working there since the summer of 2009. I grew up doing gymnastics my whole life and now love coaching!
