Mrs. Quiñones' Spanish 5 classes teamed up with the Library Media Specialists, Mrs. Penn and Mrs. Kershenski, to research and create displays for a Dia de los Muertos Fair that celebrated and educated attendees about the popular Mexican holiday that originated with the Aztecs, Day of the Dead. Students collaborated to create informative displays about the holiday traditions and also served as docents at various display stations for visitors during the event.  Middle School Spanish and 9th Grade Global Studies students were invited to attend the Fair held November 1st in the Library Media Center.

Not only is Dia de los Muertos celebrated in Mexico, it has become a popular, unofficial holiday in the Southwest United States as well.  The day serves to honor and remember our deceased loved ones.
