• The sixth-graders completed a unit on metabolism where they learned how the trillions of cells in the human body get what they need to function and what the cells do with the things they absorb.  Students also enjoyed, for the most part, a "Metabolism Engineering Internship" in which they needed to create a health bar for rescue workers and for those people they help during a natural disaster.  They needed to focus on cost, taste, and metabolic needs of the target population they are trying to help.  This photo gallery shows them taste testing ingredients like raisins, dates, dark chocolate, yeast, rice puffs and wheat puffs among other ingredients.
