STUDENT DATA PROTECTION
-
New York State Education Law 2D Part 121 requires educational agencies, including PreK-12 public school districts, to protect student and staff data, as well as the computing environment.
Akron Schools is committed to protecting the privacy and security of student, teacher and principal data. As required, the District is compiling information about each agreement between District and outside parties (websites and/or software vendors) that may have access to personally identifiable information (PII) of students, teachers and principals.
This webpage provides links to the New York State Education Department's comprehensive list of requirements and expectations for Education Law 2D, the New York State Parents Bill of Rights related to student data privacy, and the Akron Central School District data privacy and security policy.
Additionally, we are providing the listing of each third-party contract that Akron Schools enters for which the contractor receives student data or protected teacher or principal data. Included in the listing is the signed Bill of Rights Policy with the vendor/contractor.
