2022 Jr High NYSSMA Selections
Akron Central School had five students selected to play with ensembles for the NYSSMA Junior High Area All-State Music Festival had at Akron on November 4th & 5th. Pictured with their certificates are percussionist Whitley Koopman, clarinetist Emma Leonard, trumpeter Gabrielle Dispenza, and violinists Ava Lombard and Dylan Whiting Popielski. They are flanked by music directors Mr. Brenden Bardo and Mrs. Meghen Pitts on the left and Mrs. Courtney Sanville on the right. They are also joined by Mrs. Mary Fial, HS/MS Assistant Principal. We congratulate our musicians!
The Akron High School Band, Orchestra, and Chorus students traveled to Cleveland, Ohio. Although they did not have an opportunity to perform during this trip, students visited the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, attended a Cleveland Guardians Major League Baseball game, enjoyed the thrills of Cedar Point Amusement Park, visited Cleveland State University, and sailed on a brunch cruise aboard the Nautica Queen. They are pictured on and around one of six iconic Cleveland script signs.
