This course will cover human development from prehistoric humans to the effects of the Columbian Exchange.  The course is more than just a historical review but an examination of how our societies have evolved.  The course will serve as a distant mirror so we can better understand the issues that have an impact on our own society.  The scope of this examination will not only cover the history of human development but all of the social sciences.

These are my expectations of my students:  Come prepared for class.  Have  an open mind to learn.  Expect to participate in class.  Ask questions.  Make an effort to do your best.
