    ACS FOOTBALL COACH NAMED LEGACY BUILDER COACH OF THE YEAR

    Coach Andrew ClouseAKRON, NEW YORK (January 3, 2022) - Akron varsity football coach Mr. Andrew Clouse has been named “Legacy Builder Coach of the Year” by Cross Training Athletics. Coach Clouse received this recognition at the New York High School Sports Football Awards banquet held December 18, 2021 at Classics V.
         The Legacy Builder Coach of the Year Award is given to a coach who coaches not just the game of football, but rather a coach who teaches and prepares athletes for life. Recipients of this award must have coached a minimum of seven years as a head coach. Coach Clouse was selected for the award in his first year of eligibility.
         "Andy Clouse was extremely deserving of this award,” said Casey Kacz, Director of CTA.  “Over the last seven years he has built relationships with kids that extend beyond the game of football. From team dinners to creating unique nicknames, he bonds with his player every chance he gets. He prepares his athletes for life by instilling valuable truths in them, all while keeping the sport fun."
         Clouse recently completed his seventh year as Head Coach for Akron’s varsity team, leading the Tigers to a 6-3 overall record and a 4-1 record in Class C North.
         “Coach Clouse is a role model for what it means to be an excellent high school coach,” added Akron’s Director of Interscholastic Sports, Mr. Christopher Schiumo.  “Coach Clouse provides opportunities for his student-athletes to excel in teamwork, sportsmanship, self-discipline, and moral character while actively developing his players to be the best of their abilities. Coach Clouse has built a culture of character and provides a vision for his athletes to be successful both on the field and off.”
