    • Earth Day is an opportunity to recognize and appreciate nature and its beauty. Join us in celebrating Earth Day by creating a DIY Bird Feeder during our Wellness Club Meeting in Mrs. Bowen's office today during 9th period which is open to all HS students.
    • Tiger Talk Meeting is in C-120 from 3:30-4:30 pm on Wednesday, April 24th for MS and HS girls.
    • Job Recruiters from People Incorporated will be available to speak with during the 2nd lunch today.  No appointment necessary.
    • Attention Seniors: Alden High School is hosting a Technical Career Day next Thursday May 2nd. This is a great opportunity for technical students or students entering the trades to plan for employment after graduation. Please Sign Up in Student Support if you are interested. Preference will be given to Seniors. 

    In Athletics

    • The JV baseball team picked up their second win of the season with a 17 to 10 win over Wilson. Jackson Odachowski got the win on the mound and lead the team with 3 RBI’s. Conlan Luck had 2 hits including a home run, and  Jackson Nice had 2 RBI’s and 3 runs scored. Good game Tigers! 
    • Olivia Novak drove in four runs on one hit to lead the Varsity softball team to a 23-1 win over Newfane. In the fifth inning Novak doubled, scoring two runs. The Lady Tigers jumped to a lead in the top of the first inning after Ashlee Henning singled, scoring one run, Shanna Thomas drew a walk, scoring one run, Kylie Mangione singled and Madison Gates reached on error. Keira Palizay racked up 3 RBIs. The team piled up 16 hits: Henning went 4 for 5 at the plate, Jonathan and Mangione each collected multiple hits and Thomas led the team with two base on balls. Sloan Jonathan gets the win in the circle. Today, the team faces Lyndonville on their home field at 4:45! Good luck ladies.
    • The girls flag football team took the win against WNY Maritime.  Ella Liss had both team touchdowns and one of the two point conversions. Tessa Irvine also completed a reception for a 2 point conversion after one of the touchdowns.  Emma Siska had 3 flag pulls, 3 receptions, and 1 interception. Dant Grijalva and Kitana VanPelt both led the defense - they both had 7 flag pulls each. Lorelie Priebe was also strong on defense as she batted one ball away and had 6 flag pulls. Ava Fox threw for 2 touchdowns and 2 - 2point conversions! Great game Tigers! The flag football team will be back on their homefield tomorrow @ 5:00 against Grand Island.
    • Varsity tennis beat Newfane yesterday with a score of 4-1 with wins by Cole Fleming, Whitley Koopman and Aubir Baltzley, Kia Lafromboise and Ava Blockwitz, ALex Parisi and Hayden White.  Eva Sage had her first exhibition singles win yesterday.  Our next match will be home on Wednesday vs Albion.  
    • The varsity girls track team improved their league record to 3 wins and 0 losses last night with a victory over Medina 89 2/3 to 51 1/3.  Madigan Regan was a triple winner winning the 1500, 800, and 3000.  Other individual winners for the girls included: Olivia McClain in the 100 hurdles, Cara Swader in shot put, Caylin Thomas-Wells in the 400 hurdles, Brooke Milhollen in pole vault, and Marissa Brege in discus.  Dylan Crockford was a double winner for the boys winning the 1500 and 800,  Other individual winners for the boys were: Kuuchut Grijalva in long jump, Logan Meyers in the 3200, Noah Crockford in pole vault, Jack Holland in discus, and Ben Gerstung in triple jump.  Relay team winners for Akron included: the girls 4x800 of Madigan Regan, Emily Snyder, Kayla Cebulski, and Jazmine Borynski; the girls 4x400 of Emily Snyder, Hannah Liss, Kayla Cebulski, and Nevada Bergman; and the boys 4x400 of Dylan Crockford, Kuuchut Grijalva, Mason Marczinkowski, and Johnny Steen. The track team is home this Thursday at 5:00 against Royhart.
