Today is Friday, May 16, 2025

    It is an “E” Day

Akron Central School District acknowledges that we gather on the traditional lands of the Tonawanda Seneca Nation. We honor the contributions of the Indigenous peoples past, present, and future with gratitude for the land as we continue to work together with a spirit of respect and understanding.

●Attention Seniors:  If you have not already done so, please fill out the Senior Survey from the link that was sent to you this morning.

●"Today is the last day to vote for next year's Homecoming Dress Up Days using the link sent to your email. Please let Mrs. Bowen know if you have any questions".

●Tickets for this year's Prom at Pearl Street on June 13th, 6-10pm, will be available for purchase today through May 20th. Students can purchase their tickets in the cafeteria during lunch. The cost is $45. If you plan to bring a guest who is not a current Akron student, you must have a completed guest form and submit it before that guest's ticket can be purchased. Also, if you owe any outstanding textbooks, you need to stop in the HS Office before your ticket can be purchased. If you are in BOCES please see Miss. Lucarelli down in the MS gym to purchase a ticket when she is there, and please see Miss. Lucarelli in the Middle School with any questions.

●Seniors, the senior parking lot will be closed on Tuesday, May 20th due to the Budget Vote. Please park in the Junior lot that day.  Thank you.

●May is Mental Health Awareness Month. Every day this month we’ll highlight a coping skill or wellness action you can take to support your mental health. A calendar version is available for pickup in Mrs. Bowen’s office if anyone is interested. Today’s skill is to switch it up and do something different. This could be as simple as taking a different route on a walk or do something new you’ve been meaning to try. Mixing it up can be refreshing and open you up to new possibilities.

●The class of 2028 invites you to participate in our cornhole tournament on Thursday, May 22nd from 2:45 to 4 at the football field. Sign up in the ALC, with Ms. Polanski, or a Freshman Class Officer. Entry is $5 for students, $10 for teachers. There will also be a bake sale! Hope to see you there! Help us raise money for the freshmen class!
