Sex Offender Registry Information

Pursuant to Article 168 of the New York State Consolidated Laws, the Department of Criminal Justice Services maintains the Sex Offender Registry. The Registry will allow you to access information on Level Three (high risk), Level Two (moderate risk) and Level One (low risk) sex offenders. The exact address of Level One offenders it not provided, but the area is revealed based on zip code.
For general information concerning the New York State Sex Offender Registry or the New York State Sex Offender Registration Act (SORA) you can find helpful explanations, statistics, FAQ's and a searchable Subdirectory of Levels 3 and 2 Sex Offenders at http://www.criminaljustice.ny.gov/nsor/.Questions regarding sex offenders residing in the Village of Akron or the Town of Newstead may be directed to the Akron Village Police at (716)542-4481, the New York State Police at (716)759-6831 or the Erie County Sheriff's Department at (716)667-5236. You may also call the Sex Offender Registry Information Line at 1-800-262-3257.
