Notice of Website Accessibility
General NoticeThe Akron Central School District (“District”) is committed to complying with the provisions of Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 regarding its website. The goal is to provide students, parents and members of the public with disabilities with access to independently acquire the same information and enjoy the same benefits as those individuals without disabilities.
Transition Toward Web Accessibility
The District is in the process of transitioning its websites and web-based resources to more accessible formats. It is our goal to have all web-based information hosted by the District in compliance with the W3C’s Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0 Level AA. These standards help make the web easier to navigate for people experiencing vision problems, dexterity issues, hearing differences and those with other neurocognitive barriers.
Access to Alternative Format Files
While the District is unable to provide alternate text or HTML versions for all of the documents that appear on the website, we will, upon request, work with any individual with a disability to provide web documents in an alternative format.
Contact the Akron Central School District
If any person is unable to access information provided on our website or in a web-based resource, they are encouraged to contact the District by one of the methods listed below to receive the information in the necessary format.
